Investments

Founding the cardiac surgery department at the Marie Curie Children's Hospital is just the beginning. We want to go beyond that. The 500.000 EURO that we are trying to raise will be enough for modern but minimal equipment for the department. High performance is achievable with additional investments.

In a second stage of the project, the department will be added a new space which will be finished and equipped for clinical investigations, diagnosis and interventional cardiology (catheter based treatment).

Medical missions, experience exchange and training

Medical activities will start as soon as the department is functional. As soon as possible, we hope.

Cardiac surgery means team work. To help the young team that will be working in this department (especially in the beginning), our Association will organize medical missions with experienced medical teams from abroad.
We have organized so far at the "Heart Institute" (Institutul Inimii) in Cluj 6 missions of The Heart of Children team, under the leadership by Prof. Vittorio Vanini. The Italian team plans to organize annually in Bucharest between 6 and 12 medical missions.

We will also support the training of medical personnel at experienced clinics and institutes abroad (International School of Heart - Bergamo, Instituto Gaslini - Genova etc).
